Misinterpreting the beneficial of Marijuana

The mentioning of the word ‘marijuana’ in many countries around the world comes with the notion of an illegal crop. Marijuana has remained an illegal plant in many states of the US for many decades. This is changing with time. State residents are now making proposals for the legalization of the plant with 17 states making positive responses. Many have learned and accepted the medicinal values obtained from proper use of the crop and not as a drug. Misuse of marijuana has led many to becoming addicts. Addicts of marijuana are used to its primary active compound, the tetrahydrocannabinol, commonly known as THC. This compound induces a relaxed mood to the user and makes one feel in high senses.

THC has a number of effects too apart from the above mentioned. When consumed in the cigarette mode, the primary compound gets into the blood stream very fast and reactions take place within no time. It increases the heart beat rate and dilation of blood vessels, resulting in the eyes appearing red. Hallucinations are very common, some of which may include slow movement of time, sounds may seem too loud, colors may seem intense, and everything may appear pleasant and sensational. At times, it induces aggressiveness to the users. Prolonged usage to the extent of addiction produces other chronic effects, similar to those of tobacco use. These include respiratory damages, destructed breathing, and lung cancer.

Despite the above effects of misuse, did you know that marijuana has medicinal values when properly ingested into the body at the right amount? This may sound a bit of falsehood but it is a fact. Marijuana’s primary compound, THC has a number of benefits for treatment and suppression of certain diseases and conditions in the human body. THC is known to induce appetite and for this reason has been used for chemotherapy patients. It also suppresses tremor and ataxia. Medical studies taken on patients with poor bladder control ability showed that THC reduced the frequency in urine release from thrice to once for every two hours. This is a clear indication that THC has a positive influence on bladder control. There are also other cannabis compounds that are well-known for suppressing nausea and vomiting induced from chemotherapy.

In response to abnormal muscle tone, THC has shown impressive results towards controlling dystonia. The Tourette’s syndrome has also been put under control from medical researches carried out in states in the US. Tourette’s syndrome, a neurologic condition characterized by involuntary vocalizations that create obscenity has been subjected to control by traces of cannabis compounds.

The above benefits of marijuana are being put for access use by patients. Those suffering from some of the illnesses and medical disorders that can be treated by the marijuana compounds have good reasons to smile as these compounds are available commercially as marijuana concentrates. These concentrates contain dosages of the THC up to an average of 70%. Patients do not need to engage into illegal smuggling to obtain marijuana for their medicinal uses
